HAZARDOUS WORK BAN REMINDER
UNION BAY / FANNY BAY FIRE RESCUE

Due to extreme fire danger, all hazardous work activities are now prohibited until further notice.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Grinding or cutting metal
  • Welding or torch use
  • Open flame tools or equipment
  • Operating spark-producing machinery  (chainsaws, brush cutters, heavy equipment)
  • Any activity that may ignite dry vegetation or materials

restrictionsThese restrictions apply to all residents, businesses, and contractors.  Violations may result in fines or enforcement action under Bylaw 688.

The restriction will remain in place until the Fire Danger Rating falls to Fire Danger Rating 4 (High) for 3 consecutive days, or it falls below Fire Danger Rating 4 (High) to 3 (Moderate).
