Hello Union Bay

I ask for your indulgence while I take this opportunity to share my personal observations from this year’s Remembrance Day .

Even though we were not able to organize a formal Remembrance Day ceremony (due to COVID),  a small community gathering did take place to lay wreaths and honor those who have served and have made the ultimate sacrifice.

For me, this year’s observance was even more poignant as not only did we recognize past sacrifices but also quietly acknowledged the current sacrifices of Health Care and Emergency Workers during this pandemic. This  ceremony was an reminder of how grateful I am for the dedication of the Union Bay Fire Rescue membership –  who in my mind, represent the best of who we can be.

Thank you for the work that you do

Ian W Ham – Fire Chief
